The low productivity syndrome

I have been reading a lot about productivity in the various countries and have realized the mistake people do with the concept of productivity. Individually people believe that putting in a lot of hours is good. But it is not the same as results (output). Hence if enough $ is not generated based on over-working it all goes waste. Infact it hurts the productivity of the company or country. Japan always has this problem. Italy (Although I haven't seen data) is a lot like that.

I feel bad about my personal productivity. I have spent more time postponing meetings because people don't want to meet you :) rather than getting things done. Many people think meetings suck and meetings kill productivity. Working in isolation hurts even more. Thats precisely what a lot of my colleagues choose to do. It is one of those low days.

I guess I should get off the depressing subject to the book review.
